Journey of Amit agarwal

Amit agarwal is the founder of Labnol, which is an award-winning tech website. He brought professional tech blogging to india in 2004. Thus, he is known as 'Father of blogging in india'. In 2019, Google awarded Amit the Google Developer Expert title. 

Earlier, Amit was a graduate from IIT Roorkee in computer science. Amit started writing about tech in 2004 when he moved to his hometown Agra, after working at a corporate in Hyderabad for a couple of years. Initially, he started because he wanted to showcase his work in tech and there were no IT or tech jobs in agra. But as traffic on his site picked up, he saw he had visitors from all over the world. 

Amit was also one of the earlier developers of a vaccine tracker tool, which he says garnered attention from across the globe. Labnol has developed projects for the likes of Airbus, LinkedIn, Disney amd US embassy. He has developed several productivity tools including Mail Merge for Gmail and Document studio. His google add-ons have been deployed in some of the biggest companies and universities worlwide with over one million installations. 

According to Amit, his focus is always on how building content that is useful for others. Sharing his work process, Amit says he usually goes by whatever comes to his mind that seems useful, adding that while he keeps a notebook to jot down ideas. 

The only disadvantage he has felt in this 18 years is a lack of like minded people to have technology based discuasion due to the living in rural area. A problem solver at heart, Amit is trying to fix that by building a community. 

It is estimated that Amit earns more than $0.2 million per month. Amit emphasizes passion, consistency and uniqueness as the key. He adds that there has to be a balance between passion and finance to fulfill responsibilities of family. Amit advices people who want to start blogging or are novice bloggers that they should focus on stuff that they are expertise in.
